Only 7 Weight Watchers Smart Points in 2 SLICES of French Toast

So, if you haven’t heard about the fabulous weight watchers diet, you should read more about it here. It is a super flexible diet, that’s more a way of tracking your food and controlling your portions than anything else. I have become a huge fan.

My favorite thing is that there are no “off-limits” foods like with keto that I had success with before. If you want to try WW, you can get the first 3 months free using this link! So check it out.

If you’re already on WW, then you know all about the Smart Point System in which you get a set amount each day. These delicious French Toast slices come it at 7 points for two (not counting the syrup or toppings.)

That is not very many points for a decadent meal like these. you can even add two scrambled eggs for Zero points and have a very hearty breakfast for less than 10 points.

This French Toast Recipe Only Takes 10 Minutes from Start to Finish

The most beautiful thing about this recipe is the time it takes to cook. If you have a griddle this recipe will only take about 10 minutes from start to finish.

That’s perfect for a lazy morning meal, that looks and tastes like you’ve slaved away.

Choosing and Preparing the Bread

Choosing the right bread is the key to this recipe. I like using plain white Mrs. Baird’s Bread, but I do not like using Texas Toast. The larger Texas Toast slices may seem like they’d be better, but they really make your French Toast taste a little dough-ey, and they add more calories and more points.

Also, you want to make sure to steer clear of super soft breads9 like Sunbeam. If it’s all you have, wait until it’s a day old or so.

I love that if the bread is a little past it’s prime (not moldy, but a little stale) you can make wonderful French Toast with it.

Preparing the Egg Mixture

Add together all the ingredients except for the bread and mix together in a medium-sized bowl. It’s important to use a bowl big enough that a slice of bread will fit.

The mixture does not have to be completely smooth, but the egg needs to be completely broken up and blended.

Dipping the Bread

Dip each side of the bread in egg mixture making sure both sides are completely coated. Try to avoid getting thick clumps of egg on the bread.999

Using the Griddle for Weight Watchers French Toast

I love the griddle that I picked up from Walmart, but it did have a bit of a learning curve on my electric stove.

I place the griddle on the side of the stove with the largest and smallest burners. I put the front extra-large burner on medium-low heat and the back tiny burner on medium-high heat to balance out.

There is still a little bit of a cold spot at the back, but it’s manageable. In only about two minutes on each side, the French toast is perfectly toasty and delicious.

Perfection: Add the Toppings to this Weight Watchers French Toast

Now, this French Toast is perfectly tasty plain and dry, the decadence really comes in the toppings. I love mine with maple syrup. There are some really great low-fat and sugar-free options for syrup, but you really can’t beat real maple syrup.

Another topping option would be Powdered sugar and whipped cream. I have a fantastic sugar free whipped cream recipe that is to-die-for. Check it out before you go, and let me know other toppings to try on my French Toast in the toppings below.
